1. Why NUS Asia-Pacific Executive MBA?
The NUS Asia-Pacific MBA is truly a one-of-a-kind learning opportunity that integrates the best of management theory and practice from the East and West. 2. How much commitment is required?
The Asia-Pacific Executive MBA requires significant time commitment. Hence, candidates are strongly encouraged to obtain sponsorship where the employer agrees to relief the candidate from normal duties during all residential segments.

The program mecomprise six intensive 2-week segments conducted in Singapore, India, Indonesia, Vietnam, Philippines, and China. Typically, each module lasts 60 hours. Reading materials will be sent 1-2 months before the class starts.

3.Who teaches in the Asia-Pacific Executive MBA?
NUS Business School is known for its leadership in management and business. Its faculty comprises 5 academic departments, namely Strategy & Policy, Decision Sciences, Finance, Accounting, Management & Organization and Marketing.

Our professors earned their doctorates from the best universities around the world, including institutions such as Harvard University, Stanford University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology, etc. They represent 28 nationalities and are competent in at least 20 languages.

Our faculty members are also actively involved in both academic research and applied business consulting projects.

 


4. Who is eligible for the Programme?
Candidates who meets the following criteria:

  • A good bachelor's degree
  • A minimum of 10 years' full-time work experience (holding a senior position or have the potential to assume managerial position in the near future)

Based on the past intakes, our participants are a diverse group of people, in terms of nationality, industry and background, etc.

5. Do I need GMAT or TOEFL?
Both GMAT and TOEFL are not mandatory. However, applicants are required to sit for GMAT on a case-by-case basis. TOEFL is usually required if the medium of instruction during the undergraduate studies was not English.

 

 

6.Can IELTS or GRE act as a substitute for TOEFL?
No.

 

 

7.Is it necessary to have a laptop?
Yes, the laptop is frequently used during classes for projects and presentations. As such, you are strongly encouraged to own a laptop with modem/network card.

 

 

8. Why is the Asia-Pacific Executive MBA's tuition fee higher than the regular MBA?
The APEX MBA Programme is designed for the senior executives. As such, the University provides a premium level of service, in terms of faculty, service staff and facilities. In comparison with the other EMBAs offered in the region, the APEX MBA is still regarded as a high quality product at an affordable price. In addition, there is no opportunity cost - you get to keep your job while pursuing a degree, unlike a full-time MBA.

 

9. How do participants pay for the Programme? Is there any financial aid available?

There is no financial aid available for the Asia-Pacific Executive MBA programme.

10. Is company sponsorship required?
Candidates are strongly encouraged to obtain sponsorship where the employer agrees to relieve the candidate from normal duties during residential segments. Financial support from the employer, though preferred, is not mandatory.

Generally, about 50% of the participants receive sponsorship from their employers. Another 25% are partially sponsored by the company, while the rest pay for their own fees.

 


11. Why should my company sponsor me?
While your company invests in developing your skills and rewarding your contributions, it is also preserving its corporate competence, by sending its executives to acquire the best practices, latest knowledge and skills that will continue to position the organization at the forefront in a competitive business environment. You will be able to contribute immediately after each segment as you bring back with you new ideas to identify, analyze and solve company issues.

In addition, the interaction or networking with classmates, faculty and guest speakers often bring in new businesses to the company.

 


12. What degree do I get?

Upon graduation, you will get an MBA degree from NUS. It is the same as those who had completed the full-time MBA Program. NUS Business School only awards one type of MBA Degree.



13. Is it difficult to return to studying after being out of school for so many years?

Returning to an intense environment after so many years certainly requires adjustment and time commitment. However, as most APEX participants have also been out of school for many years, they will face similar challenges. As such, the participants provide mutual encouragement and support during the program, leading to new networks or friendships forged along the way.



14.Can I apply for exemptions or transfer of credits for any previously completed courses?

No, exemptions and transfer of credits are not practiced in the program. Participants are required to take all the 13 modules.
